Texas Mission of Mercy
Texas Mission of Mercy (TMOM) is a mobile dental clinic that travels around the state providing free basic dental care to Texans with limited resources and/or access to care. Our volunteer dental professionals’ primary focus is on relieving pain and preventing infection by providing extractions, fillings, and cleanings. In limited cases, replacing missing front teeth or repairing partial dentures may be available to restore a smile.
There is a need for registered dental hygienists and registered dental assistants for the Feb 21-22 event in Killeen.
While you’re there, talk to each of the dentists about why it’s important to speak out in favor of expanding Texan hygienists’ scope of practice. Imagine all that could be done if hygienists were allowed to utilize all their skills in specific settings like at TMOM to increase access to care. If you know a dentist that is in favor of of expanding Texan hygienists’ scope of practice, email their name, email, and residential address to LeeAnne Winkler, our Governmental Affairs Chair at email@example.com
