Who are we?
We are the local component of the Texas constituent to the American Dental Hygienists’ Association. We provide support and continuing education services to our members as well as oral health information and services to the community.
Mission
To improve the public’s health, the mission of GADHA is to advance the art and science of dental hygiene by ensuring access to quality oral health care, increasing awareness of the cost-effective benefits of prevention, promoting the highest standards of dental hygiene education, licensure, practice, research, and representing and promoting the interests of dental hygienists.

Services
Continuing Education
Texas dental hygienists must complete 24 CE credits for biennial renewal. As an official local component of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association, we are an approved provider of live, compliant CE programming. Since the TSBDE limits self-paced courses to 8 hours, our live sessions ensure you can confidently earn your remaining required credits.
Legislative Action
Advocacy is a core principle of being a dental hygienist. Operating right here in Austin, we are just steps from the State Capitol, and our Immediate Past President leads the charge as Legislative Director of the state association. The ADHA works tirelessly to protect our profession, and we believe every hygienist should be empowered and informed about the laws that shape our careers.
Networking Connections
Meaningful connections are right around the corner. Only hygienists understand the day-to-day of patient care, giving a part of yourself to a patient every hour, and it can be exhausting. We are building a special space for people like us to learn and grow from one another. Join us for our next networking event or let us know about something special you’re doing so we can help support you!
Mentorship
Take the “big” and “little” of dental hygiene school to the next level and find a mentor in the specialty of your interest. Among our local component, we have hygienists in education, public health, pediatrics, periodontal offices, and more. If you are interested in seeking a connection that’s more than a familiar face, reach out and let us know how you envision your career ahead and we can help you find a mentor.
Employment
We provide free “looking for work” postings to all ADHA members. For employers looking to post their openings, we charge a nominal fee to post on our social media and email announcements. There is also opportunities for employers to sponsor a networking or CE opportunity. Check out our employment page for more information.
Community Service
Dental hygienists have a unique skill to help the public. Don’t just find the time, MAKE the time to commit to a volunteer opportunity. Have an idea for a community outreach event? Let us know and we can help make it happen!
